About SLO Trail Runners
We are a group of trail running fans that get together on a regular basis to enjoy our local trails. We are runners that compete mainly in trail races from 8k all the way to 100 miles. We all love being outside, appreciating our surroundings, and we love to share our enjoyment with others whether we are hiking or running.

GET OUT and GET DIRTY WITH THE SLO TRAIL RUNNERS!
I am excited to announce that what began as a simple idea to get friends together for runs on local trails, has turned into an actual club!
As a trail runner myself, I created a Facebook page on 1.1.11 to connect with other local enthusiasts, and organize runs on our beautiful trails and open spaces here in SLO County. Almost 5 years and 700+ likes later, a small group of us have come together to make this non-profit trail running club a reality.
After much research we have decided to merge with the well-established San Luis Distance Club with the hopes of bringing the local trail running and road running communities together, most of us do both anyway. This allows us to be established as a club and also have the protection and benefits through Road Runners Club of America and USATF through SLDC. We will be a stand alone division of SLDC with our own budget and goals. The inaugural SLO Trail Runners board of directors consists of Kymberly Fazzio, Brent Vanderhoof, and myself (Thomas Reiss).
There are many benefits to joining the SLO Trail Runners through SLDC! We are currently working on ideas for some long and short term goals and programs. Some of which will include volunteer trail work and education; programs for kids; and club trips to run trails in other amazing places. We are also considering a coaching program and an advisory council that would offer trail running advice to members at a later time.
This club is not just for highly experienced trail runners – locals of all ages and levels are encouraged to join and are absolutely welcome! We will have many informal trail runs and we will also have a monthly “members only” group run. Our runs will be on terrain ranging from local fire roads to technical single-track and everything in between. All levels are welcome and there are always several distance options. To find out about these runs, please visit our Facebook page.
Feel free to reach out to me personally with any questions. We hope to run with you on our beautiful trails sometime soon!
